I worked on many of my university’s theatrical efforts, mostly behind the scenes doing things like building sets or managing lights or sound. I helped soap up Nellie Forbush’s hair off-stage before the infamous “wash that man right out of my hair” scene for a production of South Pacific. One semester we even did some improvisation in a speech class.
